FOOLED BY WEALTH .

Fooled by Wealth’s Deceit  The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful. Matthew 13:22 

If I had more money, I could do more for God and people who are needy.” “I need a bigger house and a better neighborhood.” “If I had more, others would have more respect for me, and I could influence more people.” These are a few of the lies that so many of My would-be followers have believed. Today visions of greater prosperity—more than most other stumbling blocks—keep people from truly following Me. Remember, I have said, “No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.” I meant that for all My followers, including you. Don’t be deceived by the lies of wealth. I also said, “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” This, too, I meant for you. Follow Me, and I will supply whatever wealth you truly need.

Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions. Luke 12:15.

Called to Be Wise.  Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. Matthew 10:16. As it is written, “How much better it is to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding is to be chosen above silver.” Understanding is knowing the ways of the Father. Wisdom is knowing how to walk in the ways of the Father in every moment. Ignorance is not knowing the ways of the Father, and foolishness is choosing to walk in your own ways rather than the Father’s ways.
