SECRETLY DO GOOD.

Secretly Do Good Watch out! Don’t do your good deeds publicly, to be admired by others, for you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven. When you give to someone in need, don’t do as the hypocrites do—blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I tell you the truth, they have received all the reward they will ever get. Matthew 6:1–2.

I have called you to follow Me. I have called you to be a light in the midst of darkness so others can see your works of  righteousness and glorify God. But I have not called you to be like the ancient Pharisees, who performed religious works and duties hoping to be seen by others. They performed their deeds with the intention of bringing glory to themselves rather than to God. Their reward was the praise of people. They will receive no reward from God. On the other hand, everything you do, do for the glory of My Father and Me. Let others experience My love, My kindness, and My mercy through you in the way you treat them. Without drawing attention to yourself, give your help and encouragement. Give it without the expectation or hope of receiving anything in return. In doing so, you will lay up treasures in heaven.

But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal. Matthew 6:20.
