Leading Your Family and Others in My Kingdom

You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many. Matthew 20:25–28.

Leaders  often  are  domineering  and  overbearing.  They  often  rule  with arrogance and use fear to pressure their followers. This is not the way I want you to lead. Instead, I want you to lead with humility and gentleness. I want you to lead in a spirit of serving people, including your family. I want you to guide with love and honor instead of demands and fear. I want you to lead by example. Don’t just tell your children to trust Me and run to Me, but let them see you trusting Me and running to Me. Teach others My ways with My words as well as with your life as you imitate My ways. As you lead others in this way, they will learn to lead in the same way by following your example. Watch how you lead your family and others. Take notice: Are you leading by lording or by serving? Become an imitator of Me.

Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. John 14:21.

Called to Be Wise.  Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. Matthew 10:16. As it is written, “How much better it is to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding is to be chosen above silver.” Understanding is knowing the ways of the Father. Wisdom is knowing how to walk in the ways of the Father in every moment. Ignorance is not knowing the ways of the Father, and foolishness is choosing to walk in your own ways rather than the Father’s ways.
